Recognised in 2023 by the Alfred Latour Prize, created in memory of this multi-talented French artist (1888-1964), Lausanne-based artist Keight has had two years to produce Métadécouverte, a book that is the culmination of the Alfred Latour Prize.
Presented as a kind of instruction manual, a personal development book, an exorcism project, the work is in fact a reflection on the very representation of this introspection, both in the form and content of the texts and images. In this way, it could become a “meta instruction manual”, an object itself detached from its context, a work by a designer as much as by an artist.
The Alfred Latour Prize, created by the Alfred Latour Foundation in collaboration with Actes Sud, rewards a book project that combines and combines at least two of the disciplines through which Alfred Latour has expressed himself throughout his career: painting, engraving, drawing, textile design, graphic design and photography.
